The group that would eventually become the O.T.C. Collective started during the 2020 pandemic when live music was shuttered and all musicians were left with only the scattered few outdoor open mics. Bassist Tobias Richardson had become a regular at his local open mic at the Trenton Social. He had frequented the spot throughout his youth and was a well known and respected player in the area. When Alex (Drums), Steve (Guitar) & Ryan (Keys) came through to the stomping grounds, Richardson quickly saw great musical/writing potential and chemistry between these musicians and set up a jam at saxophonists Ceilidh Madigan’s house in downtown Trenton nicknamed by the band, ‘the box’. Within the next year members of the collective took over for the Trenton Social Open Mic and had begun to expand the fun jam group Tobias had brought together. This would lead to Alex bringing in their rhythm guitarist and third writer Chase! As more musicians had taken their roles in the core group, the lines of the band blurred and the ideations of the collective began to form into its three defining parts: Over The Counter - Tobi's "Mutt Rock" fusion of genres who's only categorizing feature was it's ability to make people move, The DSCRY Complex - Ryan's carefully weaved lyrics which take you on an emotional rollercoaster & Chase Gray who is unapologetically himself, uses funky soulful music to teach positive lessons and medicine to the world!
“Music doesn’t spread, it just resonates.” That saying inspires him to express himself as
authentically as possible through his music, style, and his deep commitment to the personal relationships he holds close to his heart. Through his art, Tobi encourages everyone he meets
to be weird, be wacky, and be whoever they want in life. While his first love was the drums, Tobi is equally skilled on the bass, guitar, and keys on which he is self-taught. Tobi’s wide vocal range, undeniable stage presence, and ability to learn music on the spot have allowed him to be immersed in genres from gospel and jazz to heavy metal and hip-hop. As the bass player and songwriter for Over the Counter, Tobi enjoys bringing it all together, combining a variety of cultures and influences while sharing the stage with his friends.

Dscry is the pen name and open diary of Ryan McKeown: a multi instrumentalist, song-writer and producer currently based I now Robbinsville, New Jersey. McKeown has been playing piano since he was six it was around 14 or 15 that he found a deep love for the creative art and discovered the personal power of songwriting as a means of reflection and communication where regular words fail. Through education, he has nurtured this love and developed a rich catalog of original songs that have influences ranging from progressive rock and classical music to folk and indie rock. His deepest wish with his creation is to foster communities and connections on a deep and personal level.
He is always looking forward to the next chance to be a part of something bigger. Ryan acts not only as a songwriter and co-founder within the group but also plays an active role as an audio engineer, producer, player, and filling in as the band manager when we need to set deadlines.

Chase’s background as a teacher, martial arts coach and plant medicine facilitator comes through the music as he guides his listeners with a laid back acoustic guitar, infectious rhythms and cheerful melodies. Chase started learning guitar from his Mom at the age of 10 as he was introduced to the fingerpicking stylings of Paul Simon, James Taylor and Niel Young. He then began taking lessons with Joe Stuby of Joe Stuby and The Rocking Horse in which he began to develop his funky right handed rhythm. Chase is always looking to bring out the playfulness in his music and lyrics. He doesn’t take the songs he writes too seriously and it is in that space that allows for the songs to be easily relatable and danceable.
